     I attended GEM’s concert in November 18. Gem is a famous Chinese singer. She’s only twenty-four, but she got a lot awards. That’s the first time I attended the concert in Chicago. Chicago theater is big and the design is very …luxury. The ceiling, walls and statues are traditions. It looks like an opera. There are a lot people went to watched the concert. When GEM appeared, all scream and cheering applause. Everyone were excited to saw her. She sang a lot of classic songs, play guitar, piano, jump and sang. All the audience were followed her song. The show end in eleven o’ clock at night. The audience still call encore and Gem come out sang three songs. It was a great experience.

From this unit, I learned about the movies. It was interesting because the first part is taking about” why people crave horror movies”. That’s the questions in my mind for long time. Why people always like to do something they scared but still do it. In my opinion, people like to watch horror movies because they want to vent the dark side of their heart. Pressure often let a person hard to breath of life but our intellect do not allow us to make any cruel thing in the reality. Horror movies is the sample vent method. Also we learned some genre of the movies. We know who is Tyler Perry and Bollywood. In this unit, it doesn’t have too much part hard to understand. I remembered a question” what is a good movies?” I think a good moves through the film to express the meaning and reflection yourself. A good movies is you would rather to watch again.

Reflection Unit 2

From this unit , I learned about the introduction to pop culture. It was a little different between the unit 1 because it told me culture is leaned, shared, symbolically expressed, passed on from generation yo generation and adaptive. However, the book’s definition is beliefs, behaviors, values. Through the introduction, I feel more understand about the culture. I think this unit do not have too much difficult problems. It was better than the unit one. The interesting part I think its the star presentation. Before the classmates presentation, I only heard some star’s name. Everyone do a lot of job to search the information about there star. For me, I have no idea to choose which one. Unintentionally, I found the new Chinese singer star ---GEM. She will come here hold a concert. However, she only the famous star in my mind. Not everyone known her. The second choice---Audrey Hepburn. She a famous star as we all known. Also , her achievements made me surprised. I think that’s why the comment her online. She is not a man’s dream, but also the women’s dream. Her love and personality are as bright as her film. If I think culture is changeable. Now I think culture is diversity.

Reflection Unit 1

From the unit, I was learned the culture and culture identity about the American. As we all know, culture is all around us but what is the definition to describe the culture. From the beginning, i think culture is inherited from the traditional. However, the introduction tell me culture not only the the passed from one generation. It include the shared, language and adaptive. I was surprised a simple word” culture” can contain few different meaning. My Aha moment was the culture shock. It made me confuse because I am not sure how to explain what is it. The essay say culture shock is an accurate turn of phrase. I didn’t know that clear meaning very much. I think pop culture is not the easy class to learn. The course gonna be more and more hard and homework become more and more different. However, not all the things was bad in the book. For example, the unit of”Define American” is was the interesting part. Over the time, culture not only change the surface that you see. It can become innovate,fashion and popular. When you walk in the street dress not only can be fit for the girl. It was hard to give the short phrase for culture but i think culture is changeable.
